Plymouth Children's Services Procedures Manual

May 2018: Click here to view the latest changes.

Welcome to the latest version of the Plymouth Children's Services and tri.x Manual of Procedures.

In Plymouth, 'Looked After Children' are referred to as 'Child(ren) In Care'. However, where there is reference to Statute or Regulation then the term 'Looked After Children' has been retained. Within this context, every care has been taken to ensure appropriate use of this phrase, but should there be any errors please ensure they are noted for future updates.

NOTE: Future updates of this manual will take account of the Children and Social Work Act 2017. For further information in the meanwhile, please see tri.x Policy Briefing – Children and Social Work Act 2017.

Please also NOTE: Safeguarding Children and Young People from Sexual Exploitation (2009) guidance has been replaced by Child Sexual Exploitation: Definition and Guide for Practitioners (DfE February 2017). This advice is non-statutory and should be read alongside 'Working Together to Safeguard Children'.

It is planned that there will be a review of the Manual by November 2018.
